Twisted Cup Cozy
I have recently fallen in love with Chia tea, but as a mom, I am always on the go. So I pulled inspiration from the Twisted Ear Warmer and made a cute little twisted cup cozy to go around my reusable coffee travel mugs.
Adjusting the Twisted Cup Cozy
The cup cozy is designed to fit a medium to large coffee cup, but you can easily adjust the crochet cozy to fit any size travel mug. Just increase or decrease the starting chain to make it bigger or smaller.

Notes:
-Written in US terms.
– I do not count my CH1, turning chain, as a stitch.
-Pattern is worked flat then sewn together to create the twisted look.
CH 36
Row 1: SC in 2nd CH from the hook, SC in next 34 CH. (35)
Row 2-15: CH1, turn, BLOSC in next 35 STs.
After Row 15, fasten off leaving a 12-inch yarn tail. Now we will sew the two ends together following the photos instructions below. (The photo instructions show the twisted headband but the method is the same.) The blue and pink lines help to see where the two sides are.
Step 1: Place your two ends together so they are halfway overlapping with your left side end under your right side end.
Step 2: Fold the other half of your left side end over the folded section of your right side end.
Step 3: Fold your right side end over the left side so that it resembles step 3 in the picture above.
Step 4: Use your long yarn end and a needle sew a row of stitches that goes through all 4 layers. I like to sew back and forth a few time to secure these layers together.
Step 5: Weave in your ends and turn your twisted cup cozy inside out.
Place the cup cozy on a cup or use your hands to gently stretch the cozy a little bit. The cozy is designed to fit snuggly around your cup but the first try tends to be a little tough and is best done with an empty cup. Once stretched it is ready to go.
This twisted cup cozy works up so fast. It makes the perfect last-minute crochet gift for a birthday or stocking stuffer.
