This crochet bath mitt acts like a wearable washcloth and makes a wonderful alternative to face scrubbies. This pattern works up quick and is a great way to use up all your cotton yarn scraps and turn them into quick little crochet gifts or stocking stuffera.

Sugar and Cream Cotton Yarn (Weight 4/ Medium, 2 oz/ 150g, 50 yds/ 150 m)
Yarn Quantity
Small Child Size – 0.5 oz/ 15 g or 24 yds/ 22 m
Large Child Size – 0.65 oz/ 19 g or 32 yds/ 29 m
Adult Size – 0.8 oz/ 24 g or 39 yds/ 36 m
Large Adult Size – 1 oz/ 29 g or 48 yds/ 44 m
Yarn Substitutions
Any worsted weight (weight # 4) 100% cotton yarn will work for this project. Other brands include (but are not limited to) I Love This Yarn Cotton from Hobby Lobby, Peaches and Cream Cotton by Yarnspirations, and Local Made Cotton by Lion Brand.
Hook
Size G (4mm) Crochet Hook (or the hook size needed to meet the gauge).

For this project, you will need to know how to work in joined rounds. There are instructions for using a magic circle or a chain to start the project. The project includes working increases to create a circle and working a repeated stitch pattern to create a texture.

Large Adult – 9.5-inch circumference, 4.75 inches wide x 5 inches tall
Note: The small child size fits my 6-year-old and the large child size fits my 10-year-old.

- The turning chain does not count as a stitch.

- The pattern starts with a Magic Circle. An alternative method for starting the pattern without a magic circle is provided.
- The sizes are split into two patterns. The main difference with each size is how many double crochets are worked into the Magic Circle. Stitch counts will vary between sizes and are provided at the end of the row.

Small and Large Child Size Crochet Bath Mitt
Note: Adjustments for the large child size are in parentheses.
Round 1: Work 10 DC (12 DC) into a Magic Circle. SLST to first ST. (Small Child size – 10 DC, Large Child Size 12 DC)
Alternative Round 1: CH 3, Work 10 DC (12 DC) into the third CH from the hook. SLST to first ST.
Round 2: CH2, (does not count as a stitch), Work 2 DC in each ST around. SLST to first ST. (Small Child size – 20 DC, Large Child Size 24 DC)
Rounds 3 – 13: CH1, (SC, DC) into first ST, Skip a ST. *(SC, DC) into next ST, Skip a ST.* repeat from *to* all the way around. SLST to first DC. (Small Child size – 20 STs, Large Child Size 24 STs)
Note: For the small child size you will repeat from *to* a total of 9 times and for the large child size you will repeat for a total of 11 times. Extras rows can be added here if a longer mitt is desired.
Round 14: CH1, SC in each ST around. SLST to first ST. (Small Child size – 20 SC, Large Child Size 24 SC)
Fasten off and weave in both ends. The crochet bath mitt is done and ready to be enjoyed.
