Beginner Crochet Blanket Pattern

Everyone needs a super soft crochet blanket to snuggle up in. This beginner crochet blanket is my family’s new favorite blanket. It is thick, warm, soft, and oh so comfy.

Below you will find the complete pattern for this crochet blanket pattern. You will also find all the materials, stitches, gauge, and sizing information.

The Beginner Crochet Blanket

While working on my “How to Crochet” series, I wanted to provide several beginner-friendly patterns to help new crocheters practice. Plus, I wanted to show beginners how many items they could make with just crocheted squares and rectangles.

A large blanket can be intimidating to a beginner, but the snuggle blanket works up really fast using a large hook and thick blanket yarn. Every row you work adds an inch to the blanket. I made this blanket using yarn from my stash and just crocheted random stripes.

Notes:
-Written in US terms.
– I do not count my CH2, turning chain as a stitch.
– You can easily make this blanket larger or smaller by working less or more chains at the beginning and working less or more rows for a different length.

CH 106

Row 1: DC in the 3rd CH from the Hook. DC in each CH across. (104DC

Row 2 – 56: CH2, turn, DC in each ST across. (104 DC)

Depending on how you work your stripes, you may not make it all the way to 56 rows. Just fasten off after you finish the last full row using your 5th skein of yarn.

Weave in your ends and your blanket is done and ready to be snuggled up in.
