Fall Vibes Scarf for Warmth and Style!
Fall is here and it is a great time to crochet some new fall accessories. The Fall vibes scarf is a perfect addition to your wardrobe. You can even make the matching fall vibes ear warmer to go with it.
Yarn Choice
This pattern uses a category weight #4 yarn or worsted weight yarn. This makes substituting yarn for the project very easy. Just make sure to check your gauge, in case you need to adjust your hook size.
The Premium Ad-Free PDF Pattern
Below you will find the free pattern with all the instructional photos and videos needed to complete the pattern, but I am also aware that several of us like to crochet on the couch, in the car, or in bed with a printout of the pattern. This is why I also offer a nicely formatted large-font PDF version of the pattern that can be purchased on Etsy or Ravelry. You can print the pattern and take it on the go with you or tuck it into your project bag.

Notes:
-Written in US terms.
– I do not count my CH1, turning chain, as a stitch.
– We do not join our foundation chain with a slip stitch. Instead, we will sew the beginning and the end of the foundation chain together when we weave in our ends.
CH 260

Row 8: CH1, turn, *Work 1 SC, then 2DC into the BLO of next ST, Skip 2 STs,* repeat from *to* a total of 86 times. SC in last ST. SLST to first ST of row.
Rows 9-13: CH1, turn, *Work 1 SC, then 2DC into the next ST, Skip 2 STs,* repeat from *to* a total of 86 times. SC in last ST. SLST to first ST of row.

Rows 27-33: CH1, turn, Work a YOSL in the BLO of each ST across. SLST to the first ST.
Fasten off. Weave in your last yarn end and the yarn ends where you changed to a new skein like you normally would. For your beginning yarn end, you will want to use this yarn end to first sew the beginning and end of the foundation chain together, then weave in your yarn end.
Now your Fall Vibes Crochet Scarf is complete and ready to be enjoyed.

This scarf is so easy and yet the pattern is perfectly designed. I absolutely loved making the scarf and am now working on the ear warmer. I can’t thank you enough for your kindness in sharing such a great pattern. Thank you.
I am so happy you enjoy it. It seems to be a well-loved stitch combination and I am working on a few more patterns up to make it a pretty matching set.
I love this pattern!
Would it work with a 5-Bulky yarn (e.g. Loops and Threads Impressions)? If so, do you know how much yardage it would take – or how would I calculate it?
Thanks.
A 5-bulky yarn is double the thickness of a 4-medium yarn. The scarf would turn out much larger. You can fix this by working a smaller starting chain, but you would have to measure your gauge and determine how many chains you would need to reach the same length as the scarf. You would also need to make sure your starting chain is a multiple of 3 +2. So it really depends on how comfortable you are with adjusting patterns.
I have Lion Brand scarfie yarn which is bulky (5). Aside from the recommendations given above on the starting chain, do you have suggestions on whether the rows should be reduced?
If you use a size 5 I would reduce the number of rows a little bit. Maybe reduce each section by 2 rows.
Hi, do you happen to have a blanket pattern with these type of stitches? I am wondering if I could use the same pattern but just don’t slip stitch together how it would look. This is one of my favorite patterns ever to work up.
I do not but you would choose not to join at the end of the pattern. You will have a rough edge, so you will have to decide if you like how that looks.
Hi, do you happen to have a blanket pattern with these same stitches? This has to be one of my all-time favorite patterns. I made several scarves for gifts this year and was able to wear my ear warmer once yesterday in Florida. LOL
I do not but I will have to add that to the list because I also love this stitch.
