A Textured Crochet Washcloth to Pamper You or Someone Else
I love making little gifts for friends and family and this texture washcloth works up fast and makes a lovely gift. Right now I am making several facecloths for my kids. We are trying to teach them self-care and a stack of washcloths is a fun way to remind them to wash their faces before bed.
A Built-in Border
I just love making patterns with this built-in border. Basically, we are going to crochet a few rows of the border at the bottom of the washcloth and then start and end the middle rows with the border stitches. Then we will end the washcloth with a few of the border rows.
The nice this about this method is that you are just working back and forth rows and when your washcloth is the right size then you are done with the project! No need to work an extra step to have a lovely ribbed border. I use this technique in the big border blanket and a few other blankets on my website.

Row 1: HDC into the second CH from the hook, HDC in each CH across. (52)
Rows 2-4: CH1, turn, HDC in the BLO of each ST across. (52)
Middle Texture
Rows 5–31: CH1, turn, HDC in the BLO of the first 5 STs, *(SC, DC, DC) in the next ST, Skip 2 STs,* repeat from *to* a total of 14 times. SC in the next ST. HDC in the BLO of the last 5 STs.
Top Border
Rows 32-35: CH1, turn, HDC in the BLO of each ST across. (52)
Fasten off. Weave in your yarn ends.
