If you have made my Simply Spring Baby dress you will see that I have made some slight improvements to the Simply Fall Baby Dress. My goal for this dress was to make it very easy for beginners. To accomplish this you can find a video tutorial for the bodice of this crochet dress.
I am so thrilled that we will be working on this baby dress as a community. If you want to crochet a long with us, make sure you join the Our Crochet Journey Facebook Group to share your photos and spread encouragement through this event.
Dates and Details
This CAL will be done in 4 parts. Below I have listed all the dates and the details for each part. Most parts will take roughly an hour to complete.
Part 1 – Gauge and Color Selection and Size
Part 2 – Bodice
Part 3 – Plaid Skirt
Part 4 – Ruffles and Waistband
To make the bodice you will be working a round with 4 increases that create a square shape. This is creating the collar or the dress. When you reach row four you will fold your collar in half to create the arm holes. Below is a graph showing the first four rows of the bodice. From there you will just work even rounds to create the waist portion of the dress.
I know reading a pattern with alternate sizes in the parenthesis can get confusing, so below you will find all the sizes have their own individual pattern.
Find all the sizes, color selection, gauge in part one of this CAL.

Abbreviations
Ch – Chain
Sc – Single Crochet
Hdc – Hald Double Crochet
Dc – Double Crochet
Slst – Slip Stitch
Skst – Skip Stitch
BLO – Back Loop Only
St(s) – Stitch(es)
R – Row
Notes:
I do not count my turning chain as a stitch.
I do not work my last stitch into the turning chain.
I highly recommend using stitch markers to make this easier.
I combined the sizes for 12-18 months because the I was not able to make a neat plaid pattern with the stitch count. There was only one inch waist difference between these sizes.
If you are worried about the size, work up your bodice to row 5 and measure the waist size.
