– I do not count my turning chains, as a stitch.
Part 1: Flat Bottom Base
CH 13
Row 1: SC in the 2nd CH from the hook and into the next 11 CH. (12)

Turn so you are working into the opposite side of the starting chain. Work 2 SC into the first CH, Work 1 SC into the next 11 CH. Turn so you are working down the other side of Rows 1-39. Work 2 SC into the side of the first Row, Work 1 SC into the side of the next 38 rows. Turn, so you are working into the top of row 38, work 2 SC into the first ST, Work 1 SC into next 11 STs. SLST to first SC of this row.

Part 2: Side of the Market Bag
Note: As we work the next few rows, the bottom of the bag will get larger. It will not start working up for several rows. This is because the half double crochets are normally wider than single crochets.

Fasten off and leaving a 12-inch yarn end to sew the handle to the other side of the bag.
Go to the base of the handle that is already attached to the bag. Count over 42 stitches and sew the other side of the handle to the 43-52 stitches. Make sure not to twist the handle before sewing it in place.

Now your Color Dipped Crochet Market Bag is complete and ready to be enjoyed. Make up several to take to the store with you.
