How to Crochet a Baby Toy Garden: Free Pattern

The Crochet Baby toy container garden is an amigurumi style toy that babies and kids will love. This little container garden includes the pots, ‘dirt’ and the vegetables to stack inside each other to plant the vegetables, then pull them out to harvest them.

Below you will find the complete pattern and instructional photos for this crochet container garden. You will also find all the materials, stitches, gauge, and sizing information. If you would like all of this in a nicely formatted printable format, you can purchase the Ad-Free Large Print PDF Pattern.

Vegetable gardens are fun, but so are flower gardens, so I included a pattern for a flower that will sit in pots as well. If you want to get even more educational, you can match the containers to the flower colors and create a color matching activity. Another idea is to add a smile to the flower and make this for a friend that loves to garden.

I just loved how these little vegetables turned out. My kids were playing with them, even before I could rush them off to get pictures taken. Let me tell you, wrestling new toys from kids is not an easy task somedays.

For this pattern, you can use any worsted weight yarn, but I tend to have quite a variety of colors in Red Heart With Love and Red Heart Super Saver in my stash and that is what I used. This is my go-to worsted weight yarn for items that will get a lot of wear and tear.
