the v-stripe stitch?

This is not an official crochet stitch but a stitch pattern or stitch combination that I stitched together one evening. It creates a slight lace pattern look.

The V-Stripe stitch uses the chain, and double crochet to create this pretty 2-row repeat stitch.

DC – Double Crochet
ST(s) – Stitch(es)

Note:
– Pattern is written in US terms.
– Turning chain (CH2) is not counted as a stitch.

Starting Chain: Work any Multiple of 3 + 4 chains.

Row 1: DC in the 3rd CH from the hook and every CH across. (Stitch count will be 2 less than your starting chain number.)

Row 2: CH2, turn, DC in first ST, Skip 1 ST, *(DC, CH1, DC) in next ST, Skip 2 STs* repeat from *to* until you only have 1 ST left unworked after the last repeat. DC in last ST.

row 2 complete

Row 3: CH2, turn, DC in each ST and CH 1 space across.

row 3 complete

Continue to repeat rows 2 and 3 until the project is the desired length.
