5 Fun ways to play with this Quick Crochet Toy

To make this game even more fun I thought I would share five different ways to play with this crochet toy.

Bowling

Bowling is fun and resetting up the baskets are part of the fun. Have the kids write down how many baskets they moved and add up their score for a little math practice.

Play Catch

This ball is super soft and great for indoor catch. Remember to have the kids toss the ball and not throw it. Also have them play in an open area. This ball may not break a window but it can knock over a fragile vase.

Build a Tower

use the stacking baskets to make a tower. These baskets work up very fast and you can make as many of them as you like.

Bounce Pyramid

Have the kids stack the baskets to make a little pyramid and then have them bounce the ball and try to knock the pyramid over. It is a small twist to bowling and gives the game new life.

Indoor Soft Soccer

Set up areas that can act as goals in a safe and open place in the house. You can even use a few baskets to mark where the goal is. Have the kids kick the ball into the goal. Keep the running down by placing the goals pretty close together and tell the kids where ‘out of bounds’ is.

I hope these ideas will help to keep the kids busy and maybe where them out a little.

An Easy Crochet Toy Pattern

I wanted to keep all the toys in the quick crochet toy sets very very easy. You will need to know how to single crochet, increase and decrease and work into the back loops of a stitch.

To make this pattern go very quickly, we will be working with two strands of worsted weight yarn at a time. I have been using up my yarn stash of Red Heart Super Saver Yarn for this project. I chose primary colors, but this can be made with any color you have lying around.

Don’t Miss a Single Pattern

If you love to crochet and you don’t want to miss a single free crochet pattern, make sure to sign up for the newsletter! I will send you a quick email a couple of times a week to let you know what is new. Plus you get access to a variety of crochet related printables.

Purchase the Premium Ad-Free PDF Pattern

Below you will find the free pattern with all the instructional photos and videos needed to complete the pattern, but I am also aware that several of us like to crochet on the couch, in the car, or in bed with a print out of the pattern. This is why I also offer a nicely formatted ad-free large font PDF version of the pattern. You can print the pattern and take it on the go with you or tuck it into your project bag or basket.

In this premium PDF, I have included all three quick and easy crochet toy patterns including. the ball toss game, the color and shape sorting and the stacking baskets and ball game.

I moved all the photos to the end of the PDF so you can reference them as you needed them and print just the pattern without using up as much ink. The Premium PDF version of the pattern bundle can be purchased on test or Ravelry.
