Casper has nothing on the cuteness of this little ghost with her big eyes and bow. You can omit the eyelashes and bow to make a cute little boy ghost.

Yarn

I Love This Yarn Acrylic – (Weight 4/ Medium, 7 oz/ 141g, 355 yds/ 324 m)

Yarn Quantity

White – ? yds (? m) 5 oz (? g)

Black – 3 yds (3 m)

Pink – 15 yds (15 m)

Yarn Substitutions

Any medium-weight (#4) yarn will work for this project. I used acrylic, but cotton will work as well. You can also use a thinner yarn with a thinner hook (try a E (3.5 mm) hook) or a thicker yarn with a larger hook to adjust the ghost’s size. For larger yarns, use a size J (6.5 mm) hook.

Hook

Size G (4 mm) Crochet Hook

Notions

Skill Level – Easy

For this project, you will need to know how to work into a magic circle. An alternative way will be provided to use instead of a magic circle. You will also need to know how to increase and decrease using single crochet stitches. You will also be joining two pieces together by single crocheting into the side of rows.

Assembling the Crochet Ghost Pillow

Now all your pieces are complete. Let’s assemble this cute crochet ghost pillow. First, make sure the eyes and mouth have been sewn onto the front of the ghost.

Next, take the front of the ghost and the side piece, starting at the bottom side point of the ghost, and hold the two pieces together. Make a slip knot with white yarn and insert your hook. Now work a single crochet through the sides of both crochet pieces.

crochet ghost pillow pattern joining the sides

Working into the sides of the ghost front piece and the sides of the side panel. Single crochet the two pieces together. For the side panel, you will always be working into the side of the rows. For the ghost piece, you will work into the side of each row up one side. Then you will work into the stitches of the last row, then into the sides of all the rows down the other side of the ghost. Lastly, you will work into the opposite side of the starting chain.

Once the front side of the ghost is joined to the side panel, sew the bow onto the ghost. Now repeat the process, connecting the back side of the ghost to the side panel. When the side panel is 75% of the way joined, stuff the ghost. Then, complete single crocheting the two panels together. This will leave you with a 2-inch opening on the side of the ghost. Add any additional stuffing that you want to add, then sew up the 2-inch opening. Weave in all your ends.
