An Easy Modern Crochet Bag

I used to be a seamstress and I have always loved simple patterns. In the sewing world, the trifold bag is a clever way to turn a simple rectangle into a modern tote. You just fold it three times and sew a little seam and you are done. It is truly that easy. I made the bag a little more modern looking by adding the color blocking. Because this bag is a simple rectangle, it is very easy to add a lining to the bag. Just line the bag like you would a blanket before folding it into a tote.

She was my Hero: Nurse Mom

I don’t tend to talk about my mother very much. It is hard because I lost her not long ago. But I want to tell you about the Hero that my mom was.

My mom (and dad) was always the first person to help in an emergency. She was an amazing nurse. I remember once, coming home from a movie when we came across a head-on collision. My parents pulled over immediately and went over to help. Mom checked every one to see who was hurt. My dad (volunteer firefighter at the time) sat with a man that was pinned in his car and tried to keep him calm.

Together, they calmed the victims, contacted 911, and waited with them until emergency responders were there. As a child, all I could see was my parents saving lives just like heroes.

As a nurse this was not the only emergency my mother helped with. She was always the first to stop the car and help anyone in need. I can just remember her say, “I am a nurse, I can help!”

Nurses and Doctors are fantastic people and true heroes. So here is a little “Thank You” pattern for them.

You will only need to get one item (assuming you don’t already have an embroidery hoop) and it only takes about one to two hours. It is a great way to just dabble in a new craft.
