The amigurumi black cat crochet pattern is a companion pattern to my pretty little ghost pattern I made last year. I have improved the base pattern and add all the cute little details a cat needs.
Halloween is one of our favorite holidays, but we aren’t huge fans of all the scary decorations. So every year I try to make a few cute Halloween items to add to our collection. Last year was the Pretty Little Ghost and my Spooky Banner, this year is this little Black Cat crochet pattern.
This cat works up pretty easily using basic amigurumi techniques. I finished her off with some embroidered eyes and a little pink nose. She has a few pipe cleaners stuffed in her tail to help it stand up on its own as well.

Tips for Embroidering Eyes and Nose
I have to confess I am new to embroidering but I am quickly falling in love with it and plan to do in depth tutorials on embroidering on crochet very soon. For now let me provide you a few tips for embroidering the eyes and nose of this black cat.
Step 1: Outline where your eyes or nose will be. The outline does not have to be perfect but it will help you keep the part your embroidering centered.
Step 2: Use long stitches to fill in the outline. I inserted my needle on the inside of the outline for the first layer of stitches.
Step 3: Make a second layer of stitches working on the outside of the outline you made. This layer of stitches will look much better than your first.
Extra Tips
Embroidery takes a little practice, so consider practicing on a piece of cloth before you work on the cat face.
Use a sharp embroidery needle instead of a blunt yarn needle.
Try to insert your needle through the middle of a Single Crochet stitch whenever possible. When you do this your stitches tend to stay exactly where you placed them.
Once your eyes are added, your cat is complete.
