Textured Buttoned Infinity Scarf Pattern

The weather is turning cold and that means it is time to start working on accessories to keep us warm. The Textured Buttoned Infinity Scarf is a perfect project for the job. Not only can it be worn as an infinity scarf but you can also unbutton it and wear it as a long scarf. Talk about versatility.

If you like the buttoned scarf concept, then check out the Buttoned Plaid Infinity Scarf. It is the same idea, with a different look. Plus, you can never have too many accessories this time of year.

If you love the texture and look of this scarf let me know in the comments below and I may make some matching pieces to go with it.

Textured Buttoned Infinity Scarf Pattern

-I do not count my Ch2 at the beginning of each row as a St.

Using Grey
Ch 236

R1: Hdc into 3rd Ch from hook and each Ch across. (234 Hdc)

Change Yarn to Pink.

R2-11: Ch2, turn, Hdc into first St. *(Sc, Dc) into next St, Skip St* repeat from *to* 116 times or until you reach the last St. Hdc into last St. (234 Sts)

Note: Except for Row 2, you will always be working your repeat into the top of the Double Crochet of the previous row.

Change yarn to grey.

R12: Ch2, turn, Work a Hdc into each St across. (234 Hdc)

R13: Working down into side of the Hdc of the previous rows, Ch1, *Sc into side of Hdc, 2 Sc into side of Hdc* repeat from *to* a total of 6 times. (18 Sc)

R14-22: Ch1, turn, ScBLO into the next 18 Sts.

Fasten off and weave in your ends. You have just created the ribbed section that you will sew your buttons to.

Go to the other side of the scarf. Attach your yarn to on end and continue the pattern working down the side of rows 1-12.

R23: Working down into side of the Hdc of the previous rows, Ch1, *Sc into side of Hdc, 2 Sc into side of Hdc* repeat from *to* a total of 6 times. (18 Sc)

R24-27: Ch1, turn, ScBLO into next 18 Sts.

R29-33: Ch1, turn, ScBLO into next 18 Sts. (Your chains count as Sts)

Now we are going to work one final row around 3 sides of the scarf to give it a nice neat edge.

R34: Ch1, working down the long side of the scarf, Sc into the side of next 11 rows, Sc into the next 234 Sts, Sc into the side of next 10 rows, Ch1, turn, Sc into next 18 rows (on the short side of the scarf), Ch1 turn, Sc into the side of next 11 rows, Sc into the next 234 Sts, Sc into the side of next 11 rows. Fasten off and weave in your ends.

Now you will just sew on your buttons.

Line your two ribbed edges up to determine where the buttons should be placed. Sew them on, weave in those ends and your scarf is complete.
