Every year my grandmother would receive a knitted washcloth from a friend. She would rave about how much she loved the texture and soft feel of the cotton washcloth. This year I wanted to make her a washcloth to rave about. I think I really hit the mark with the Seeing Spirals Washcloth.

Her birthday is right around the corner and so I designed this washcloth just for her. I wanted it to be easy to create, have a great texture, and be unique. This washcloth has a different texture on each side and a fun spiral effect.

The Seeing Spirals washcloth free crochet pattern is quick, easy and great for beginners. This project works up fast makes a unique spa like washcloth. This is a small project that would make a great gift. #crochet #freepattern #quick #easy #forbeginners #crochetpattern #crochetwashcloth #unique #spa

The spiral in this piece makes me think of the spirals on sea shells. The spiral is created by working in a continuous round using the half double crochet in the third loop. If you are not familiar with working in the third loop check out my video tutorial.  This technique gives the washcloth a subtle texture. Package this with some handmade soap or sugar scrub and it will make a cheerful ‘pamper yourself’ gift for any occasion.

I have been using a lot of cotton this summer and I really loved the multicolor look of the Premier Yarns Home cotton. I decided to give it a go for this project. This cotton is soft and has good stitch definition. It is perfect for heavily used items.
