This unique crochet washcloth is worked in a continuous spiral. The stitches are worked in the “third loop”, which pushes the front and back loop to the front of the washcloth and creates a spiral pattern. This crochet washcloth comes together quickly in only 10 rounds and a couple of ounces of yarn. What a perfect last-minute gift!

I have been using a lot of cotton this summer and I really loved the multicolor look of the Premier Yarns Home cotton. I decided to give it a go for this project. This cotton is soft and has good stitch definition. It is perfect for heavily used items.

Half Double Crochet in the Third Loop – Instead of working your half double crochet into the front or back loop of your stitch, you will rotate your project forward and work your stitch into the middle bar or loop on the backside of the stitch right below the back loop. Watch the video tutorial for a demonstration.
pattern notes
- Starting with Round 2 you will always be working into the third loop. This can be found by turning the work towards you. There will be a horizontal bar in the middle of the side of the stitch.
- Check out the video tutorial for more help. How to Crochet: Half Double Crochet in the Third Loop
- Use a stitch marker to mark the last stitch of the row you are working on.
