I can’t tell you how much my Grandmother’s handmade gifts have inspired many of my own designs. She made me so many handmade gifts growing up but it is her simple rag dolls that inspired the Heirloom Crochet Doll.
When I was a child, my grandmother made all her granddaughters rag dolls. They were 2-3 feet tall and had clothes for dressing. They were simply two pieces of cloth cut into a doll shape and sewn together. We loved their hand painted faces and yarn hair. They were a truly simple design that left a lasting impression on us. Nothing is more special than a handmade gift.
Quilted baby blankets are a tradition in my family. So when it came to making my daughter’s baby blanket I knew I needed to make something that at least look quilted. I fell in love with hexagons while making the Hubby Hexagon Blanket, so it just made sense to make my baby girl a hexagon butterfly baby blanket.
My grandmother and best friend have quilted for quite a while now and I am just in love with the quilted look. I can make a quilt, but my passion is with crochet. So a quilt look alike blanket is enough for me.
The amigurumi black cat crochet pattern is a companion pattern to my pretty little ghost pattern I made last year. I have improved the base pattern and add all the cute little details a cat needs.
Halloween is one of our favorite holidays, but we aren’t huge fans of all the scary decorations. So every year I try to make a few cute Halloween items to add to our collection. Last year was the Pretty Little Ghost and my Spooky Banner, this year is this little Black Cat crochet pattern.
The Happy Flower Project has started to gain some momentum and I am thrilled to feed that fire with a new sunflower crochet pattern. This flower can be worked in two color and made to look like a sunflower or it can be made in several colors for a fun festive look.
